Welcome to Foundry Street Studio
In early 2020, Greg Coulson fulfilled a long-held ambition and embarked on the next stage of his musical journey, opening a recording facility in the centre of Northampton. Now joined by Ben Hood and Dan James Short (Melonwave Audio), the studio continues to grow as a collaborative and creative space.
With over 30 years of combined experience performing live, writing, arranging, and working in recording studios, the team brings a wealth of knowledge and a shared passion for music-making across a wide range of styles. Ben Hood and Dan James Short are both producers and songwriters, contributing their creative vision and technical expertise to a wide range of projects.
“As with everybody, lockdown brought significant challenges — gigs and tours were cancelled as venues could not welcome audiences. However, this became an opportunity to adapt and grow. Initially offering a remote tracking service, the studio quickly developed its capabilities, making full use of the technology and space available.
Through this process, the studio expanded into working with musicians and bands directly, offering a flexible service tailored to a wide range of creative needs. The core aim has always been to provide the kind of supportive, inspiring environment that has been so valuable throughout our careers.
To those who have supported the journey so far — thank you. We’re proud of what we’ve created together, and excited for what’s to come.”
